About me
Marlene Schafer is the owner of Arukah Center, a licensed substance abuse agency in Colorado Springs, and serves as a Domestic Violence Clinical Supervisor and DVOMB Approved Provider. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and a Master’s degree in Counseling and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), and National Certified Counselor (NCC). Marlene has worked with female offenders since 1991 and has provided domestic violence treatment to both male and female clients since 2020. Her work incorporates trauma-informed approaches while supporting individuals in developing accountability, creating meaningful behavior change, and building healthier relationships. She is committed to helping individuals understand the impact of their experiences while focusing on responsibility, healing, and breaking cycles of violence.
